Hello Amateurs!

We are one week away from the 2014 Cystic Fibrosis “Cycle For Life” Event!

This year the”Cycle For Life” committee requires only one (1) Ham to
ride in a vehicle, at 6AM to cover the road course from Riverhead to
Orient Point and back . . . . . . checking signs and road markings for
the bicycle riders who will leave Hotel Indigo beginning at 7AM.  We
have a need for six (6) stationary Hams to be at water stops along the
route.  You will be able to keep your car and mobile radio together and
be at the rest stop to handle traffic between Net Control and the rest
stop coordinators.

This will be our last of six radio communications events on the North
Fork for 2014:  American Heart Association “Heart Walk,” Suffolk County
Bicycle Riders Association ” Bike-Boat-Bike” event, the American
Diabetes Association “Tour de Cure,”  the “Shelter Island 10K Run &
Walk,”  and ARRL Field Day 2014.  It has been a busy and varied
event-season and I would like to thank everyone who has participated in
one or more of these opportunities to have fun, practice our skills and
put Amateur Radio in a very fine light on Eastern Long Island.

If you would like to participate in this Cystic Fibrosis Event, please
reply to this e-mail e-mail and we will assign a location to you and let
you know what time to report.  If you know another Ham that would like
to join us, please invite them along.  The event will be completed by 4PM.

We look forward to seeing you again on September 20th.
