Roseland ARC

Please tell all your members that The Roseland Amateur Radio Club is celebrating 69 years of broadcasting. We are sponsoring a VHF  2 Meter event on September 13,2014. The club will look for contacts on the National Frequency 146.550.

The event will be held from  10:00 am  to 2:00 pm on the Eagle Rock Reservation near the 9-11 monument in West Orange, NJ

Peconic Amateur Radio Club

** Cystic Fibrosis Bicycle Event on Saturday, September 20
from 0700 hrs. to 1600 hrs. Bikers leave Blue Indigo Hotel in Riverhead (LIE Exit 72) and travel to Orient Point and back. Volunteer radio operators needed . . . . . contact Don Fisher N2QHV (n2qhv@arrl.net) or Don Rollock W2EUL (w2eul@arrl.net) if you can help out !!

**John Slattery of Nassau Point is a high ranking Coast Guard Auxiliary member who coordinates communications for the many Flotillas around the Country. Ron Dobert K2YKH and Peter Young are locally active as well. There is a Special Event commemorating the US Coast Guard Auxiliary’s 75th Anniversary on 18 October 2014. Our members may want to try and contact as many Special Event Coast Guard stations across the Country as possible to get some valued wall paper 🙂 We may set up shop at Custer during their Jamboree on 18 October to contact as many Special Event Coast Guard stations as we can, so join us and operate for a while !
** PARC will conduct our annual Simulated Emergency Test (SET) on October 3 concurrent with the PARC October meeting. We will meet at the Library, and after a short business meeting, we will travel to our assigned locations in Southold Town and conduct an emergency communications drill. Please bring your HT’s and mobile radios to the meeting.

** The Plum Island visit is scheduled for this Friday, Sept 5 – Those of you who have submitted your NCIC forms to HLS should meet in the Plum Island parking lot at Orient Point at 9am. Please remain in your car until you are directed to board the boat to the island. The boat leaves PROMPTLY at 9:30am with or without you…if u miss the boat, you will be asked to leave the property so please be on time. The boat leaves Plum Island at 2:30pm to return to Orient. More information will be available sometime later this week.
